Woody Spark is an underwater cinematographer and Director of Photography with extensive experience filming across the Great Barrier Reef, from the northern reefs off Lizard Island to the Swains off Gladstone in the south. Over more than a decade of reef-based production work, Woody has built deep knowledge of the Reef's ecosystems, seasonal behaviour, and logistics of remote and liveaboard shoots.

Woody's Great Barrier Reef location work spans Lizard Island, Heron Island, Lady Elliot Island, the Ribbon Reefs, One Tree Island, Ellison Reef near Mission Beach, and the Swains off Gladstone. This work has included filming dwarf minke whale aggregations on the Ribbon Reefs and around Lady Elliot Island, epaulette shark behaviour, and coral bleaching documentation at Heron Island.

Woody was one of three underwater cinematographers on Secrets of the Octopus (National Geographic/Disney+), filming at Lizard Island, and shooting underwater sequences across the length of the Reef, from the Ribbon Reefs to the Swains, for Stan's Revealed: Reef Shot. At Heron Island, Woody filmed shark behaviour for Netflix's All the Sharks. Conservation-focused work includes Mourning the Great Barrier Reef (Sydney Vivid Festival) and the Australian Marine Conservation Society's Ellison Reef, filmed off Mission Beach.

Woody also filmed the original installation of the Museum of Underwater Art in Townsville, working with artist Jason deCaires Taylor to document the sculptures as they were placed on the Reef.

Woody shoots on ARRI, RED, Sony, and Canon cinema systems using Gates and Nauticam underwater housings, and is experienced working on remote island and liveaboard productions.
