Multi Award-Winning
Underwater Cinematographer
Woody Spark is an Australian cinematographer specialising in underwater natural history and documentary production.
With over a decade of experience filming in challenging marine environments worldwide—from the cold waters of Vancouver to the tropical reefs of Indonesia—Woody brings technical expertise and creative vision to every project. His background in electrical engineering and certification in rebreather diving enable complex underwater setups that other cinematographers can't achieve.
Woody's recent credits include National Geographic's Secrets of the Octopus (Disney+), Netflix's All the Sharks, PBS, Stan, and Sky Nature. He has won multiple Australian Cinematographers Society Awards for both natural history and specialised cinematography work.
Starting his career as a camera assistant, Woody developed deep knowledge of camera systems, optics, and shooting techniques that he applies to every production. He shoots on RED, Sony, and Canon cinema systems—both topside and underwater using Gates and Nauticam housings.
Whether filming animal behaviour in remote locations or crafting studio work, Woody combines technical precision with storytelling instinct to create compelling visual narratives that connect audiences to the natural world.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Woody is available for cinematography projects worldwide.
